Luxury flight to Amsterdam

March 8, 2011

No it wasn’t business class to Amsterdam, but the flight was only 1/2 full. So we all got at least two seats to ourselves if not a full row. I will confess to not working very hard on the flight. In fact, I did some catching up on some movies (Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Secretariat) while poor Ginnie was furiously typing out a bunch of powerpoint presentations on pericardial disease and congenital heart surgery. Do you think those topics are a little broad?!

We’ve landed safely in Amsterdam and are waiting for four hours to catch our connection to Nairobi. Unfortuantely, I have never been on a flight to Africa that wasn’t very crowded. So I don’t anticipate the luxury flight again. But at least we got a nice shower here in the terminal.

Off to find some food, breakfast places are just opening even though my stomach says it’s midnight!

Thanks for all your prayers and supports. We read all the Facebook and Yahoo comments. We appreciate them!

More later….

We are so happy to know you are making another dedicated trip to Kenya. We will pray for safety, health and for your children. Also for you as you determine how to carry out your call to work in this culture. Blessings!

We had one of those flights out of Dar to Amsterdam. There were A LOT of snacks available that day with just a few people on board. Best flight ever.
